Welcome to MVP Goaltending
Hello Everyone,
I am proud to announce the addition of MVP Goaltending to the State of Minnesota. We are excited about putting Minnesota goaltender's on the map and on the recruiting lists of college and professional scouts across the country.
MVP Goaltending is a training and development company for goaltenders, which is designed to push our young talent to enhance each player's ability and giving each participant the knowledge of successful techniques that will prepare our goaltenders for competitive game situations.
Most Valuable Player might be your initial thought when it comes to our company name. However, we have refocused this acronym to represent three key attributes of goaltending. Movement allows players to get around the crease, giving them the opportunity to follow the play. Vision means having the ability to track the puck from opponents stick to the goaltender's body. Positioning gives each individual the importance of reading the play and allowing each player to be in a good position to make, not only the first save, but the rebound as well.
Our initial focus will be to gain an understanding of the key attributes each individual player has. Once observed, we will use the player's strengths to put him or her in a position to succeed. Our mission is to help each player achieve a higher level of play. At MVP Goaltending, we do not change the playing styles of our goalies, unless that particular style is inhibiting that player from reaching a higher level of proficiency. We want our players to feel comfortable in the net, let their natural athleticism, instincts and ability to come through during pressure situations, while using the tools we have taught, to make each individual a more well-rounded goaltender.
With the knowledge gained from playing the position and from the great coaches over my career, I believe I have developed a program, unlike any other in the State of Hockey.
