Brian brings a plethora of playing experience and coaching expertise to Massachusetts Crease. He is a local coach in Massachusetts , who grew up in Braintree, MA and attended Brown University. Upon completeing his college career, he went on to pro hockey. Brian played at every level of the minors before making it to the NHL playing with the Tampa Bay Lightning. Brian won the Stanley Cup as part of the Lightning team during the 2003-2004 season.
Brian now owns and operates Massachusetts Crease out of the Boston, MA area. Both Mike Ayers and Brian have a long history working together as they played on elite youth programs growing up in the Massachusetts area. They continue to work together today, in hopes of developing more goaltender's in the Minnesota and Massachusetts areas.
Playing Experience:
• Made his NHL debut with the Tampa Bay Lightning against the Montreal Canadiens (2005/2006) • Played two seasons with the Pensacola Ice Pilots (ECHL) • Played four years at Brown University (NCAA, Division I ECAC) • Played for Archbishop Williams H.S. (MA)
Career Highlights: • Official member of the 2004 Stanley Cup Champion Tampa Bay Lightning • Was voted the Springfield Falcons team MVP for the 2004-2005 season • Set four separate single-season league records while playing for the Pensacola Ice Pilots for wins, minutes played, saves in one season and saves in one game • Selected by the Tampa Bay Lightning in the 7th round (226th overall) of the 2000 Entry Draft • Named to ECAC All Academic squad three years in a row • Won the D-1 State Championship as junior with a 3-0 shutout of Malden Catholic • Went undefeated during the regular season of his senior year in high school and suffered his only loss to eventual champion Catholic Memorial (CM) in the Super 8 Finals • Named high school male athlete of the year by School Sports Magazine • Recipient of the John Carlton Award presented by the Boston Bruins
